 Pune can now boast a symbol of world peace. A unique ‘earth peace' temple has come up recently at the Siddhanath forest ashram in Sinhagad, around 35 km from the city, which houses a one-of-its-kind Shivling made of paras mani (solidified mercury).

According to Yogiraj Siddhanath, a spiritual guru and founder of the Hamsa Yoga Sangh, a non-profit organisation that offers training in natural and healthy practices, the Shivling is a symbol for ‘earth peace.' The temple was opened on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

Yogiraj Siddhanath told The Indian Express on Tuesday that the Shivling, which weighed over a tonne and was around 30 inches in height, was possibly the largest known akhand (unbroken) Shivling. "It can be termed the elusive philosopher's stone and has a distinctive spherical shape," he said.

Yogiraj Siddhanath said the science of mercury solidification, a technique that Europe and Arabia so dearly wanted but could not comprehend, has been known to India for 7,000 years, since the time of the Indo-Saraswati civilisation. Mercury, when solidified, sheds its toxic qualities and begins to exude a ‘nectarine' effect, he elaborated, adding that it assists in slowing down the ageing process. "The ingestion of such pure mercury enables a true yogi to obtain a sanjeevan deh - an immaculate body - free from the ravages of time. It also helps in stabilising the mind and attaining a state of peaceful calm," he said. The purification of mercury from its fluid to a solid state has 16 phases, he added.

Producing the mercury Shivling took one year and seven months, Yogiraj Siddhanath said. He also pointed out that the maintenance of a Shivling was no easy task. "A Shivling has a mind of its own. It has a wish-fulfilling quality but if it feels neglected, one will see the repercussions soon. Therefore, proper meditation and prayers are a must," he said.

"It is wonderful that such a magnificent place of worship has been established here," said Dr Sunil Jagtap of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Medical College of Yoga and Naturopathy, on Bajirao Road.

Situated in a densely vegetated area near Donje-Golewadi, the temple offers people a perfect getaway from the mundane routines of life. "The ashram is meant for meditation and there are no time limits for visitors. Everybody is free to come and discover the serene atmosphere here. Come, meditate and experience the difference," Yogiraj Siddhanath said, as the captivating raag bhairav played in the background.

Difficult so much it would be

...OK    let us discuss the Essence of Communities...i.e SUSTAINABITY !...

...  this term has now become realy Wide and we can define it from ' Eco-friendly ' point of view, Eonomicaly, Spritualy ...and on and on ... These definations may be are Strong enough to enter in mainstream conciousness around the globe today because we can find every other NGO talking of it, but less Implimenting it in a way that can visibly be a ' Challange ' to the poverty at least in Few particular areas !!....

.... If the question is to be explained WHY SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES OR SUSTAINABILITY ..I would

1stly shall Speak  Economicaly .... see.... Economics right after 1776 grew as a subject of " Governing the laws of Wealth " ...after around 300 years of its Natural evolution We today are more or less Result of the economic structure ( although we believe economics or politics or anything is nothing but SPRITUALITY expressed in certain way ! ) ....Boasting and celebrating our own idead of " welfare economics " and other complex Sub. subjects under it We have uttrely failed to Notice inherent Contradictions in our own system and really are failing to observe that Corporate culture has already served its term with humanity and now she is pregnent with the inevitable .." CHANGE " What is believed by the so called Economists or Think Tanks of today as the " LANDMARK " defination of Economics given by Lord Robbins ( 1931 )

that - " Economics is a science which studies the relationship between ends and SCARCE MEANS which have alternative uses ".
To observe it carefully we need not go in some more scholistic effort but clearly according to this approach ( which is the present one ) -

1. WE do have SCARCE means

2. And only EFFICIENT use is the alternative for fulfillment of Wants .

Well..... 1st and foremost we DO NOT believe that there is any " SCARCITY " of resources to this EXTENT that millions can go without food everday !

2ndly... We dont have to CREATE anykind of " Abundance " ... But just have to
REALIZE it !!..because it already exists !...

3rdly..... For this realization Definately we do not Anymore need HEAVY Industries
or Corporates producing at BULK, that will no more help us .

SO what ?????...   OF COURSE SELF - SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES or SUSTAINABILITY !!!

... for this itself is SPRITUALITY ( or Love ) Expressed in the way that we do REALIZE the inherent GiFT of our Mother Earth for us that is ..ABUNDANCE..... We have Fundmental Rights in various constitutions for Citizens and we do have so many United Nation's Human Right Conventions declaring " Rights of MAN " ... But where it is Acknoweledged that ABUNDANCE exists and to Experience it is our ' BIRTH RIGHT ' !
........ ABUNDANCE is REALIZED When ' Shared ' !!... NOt laws of Demand and Supply can ever produce what we have choosen !....

.......... For us observably " SUSTAINABILITY " is the way to develop a relationship with our Nature, to recieve this gift of abundance, to end the separation in Humanity and nature and by Supporting it in and through COMMUNITIES we will provide it impeteous. 
.. THAT is WHY .... Sustainable Communities !!

WORLD is a wrestling ground of CORPORATES... ZIMBAWBE is the Current example ... ...AND on the other hand sustainabilty's other NAME is FREEDOM .. OH only if one fully understands the deapth of this concept ofcourse ....

Lastly if we talk in Intellectual language... CAPITALISM is an INSTITUTION and ECONOMICS is a PROCESS.. or we can say that economics is an Aspect of Human evolution which itself is a PROCESS .... Hence some can even claim that Sustainability is also an Economic, political institution which in very near future will emerge as a way of living other than fatal consumerism... that is correct ofcourse ..... SUSTAINABILTY is Way of Highly evolved beings .. Yet personally I would like to ELEVATE sustainability from status of any kind of institution !!.. OH Much more than that ..... ... It is the 1st step of Acknowledging/ Accepting HUMANITY' S DIVINE nature OPENLY ... that is LOVE, UNITY, JOY through SHARING also through this we shall  be able to bring to HEALING ( which is very very much needed ) to our Cultural differences ....
